Some Tips for Using the World Wide Web

With the enormous growth of the World Wide Web, strategies for locating useful material and evaluating it are changing. At one time it was possible to provide a list of useful link sites which would lead you to most of the valuable sites in the medieval history subject area, but this is no longer possible. The web is currently in a state of chaos. There is much out there that is of great merit, but finding it may require attacking each search with multiple strategies. It must be noted that in the time that this site has been online, student users have become much more familiar with the use of the web, and of the increasing array of web tools that are out there. It is no longer necessary to say "Now just click the mouse on the link", but it probably is still necessary to have a few words on how to evaluate the material that is found.
